Bazaar Community Guidelines

What’s allowed, what isn’t, and how we keep Bazaar safe and fair for everyone.

Purpose

Welcome to the Bazaar community. Whether you’re buying, selling, or just browsing, trust matters — Bazaar only works if buyers and sellers can rely on each other and on the listings in front of them.

These Community Guidelines (“Guidelines”) explain what’s allowed, what isn’t, and how we keep the marketplace safe and fair for everyone. They apply to everything that happens on Bazaar, including listings, messages, offers, and any other interaction between users. Bazaar is a platform that connects buyers and sellers — the actual exchange of goods, services, and payment happens directly between users, off-platform, and we are not a party to it (see our Payments help article and Terms of Service for further details).

By using Bazaar and agreeing to our Terms of Service, you agree to follow these Guidelines. The examples throughout this document are here to illustrate the rules, not to list every possible situation — use your judgment, and when in doubt, get in touch with us first rather than after the fact.

As Bazaar grows, we may update these Guidelines to reflect new features, new risks, or feedback from the community. Continuing to use Bazaar after an update means you agree to the current version.

Scope

This policy applies to everyone accessing or using Bazaar in any capacity — buyers, sellers, and anyone browsing the site — as well as any third parties operating under a direct agreement with Bazaar. It doesn’t override applicable Cayman Islands law; where the two conflict, the law takes precedence.

Our Guidelines

Honesty First

Bazaar is built on trust between strangers. You must honestly represent the item or service you’re listing, your identity, and your activity on the platform. Only list things you have the legal right to sell, and only make claims about them that are true.

Accurate Listings & Photos

A listing should clearly and accurately describe what a buyer will actually get. Photos should show the real item you have, not a stock photo, a manufacturer catalog image, or a photo you don’t have the right to use — this applies to services too: examples of your actual work, not stock imagery implying a result you can’t promise.

Don’t hide or downplay damage, wear, or defects. If an item has been repaired, altered, or heavily used, say so in the description. Leaving out something a buyer would reasonably want to know before messaging you is misleading, even if nothing you wrote was technically false.

Honest Behavior

Scamming, spamming, creating fake listings, impersonating another person or a business, or otherwise manipulating the marketplace isn’t allowed. This includes things like posting a listing you have no intention of actually selling to drive traffic elsewhere, using multiple accounts to get around a suspension or a report, or coordinating with others to manipulate offers or reviews.

Respect Each Other

Bazaar’s community spans a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. Treat other users with respect in every interaction — messages, offers, reports, all of it. Disagreements happen; when they do, keep them focused on the item, the price, or the transaction, not personal attacks.

No Hate or Harassment

Don’t post or send content that attacks or degrades someone based on who they are — this includes slurs, hateful stereotypes, or content promoting discrimination. Threats, intimidation, sexual harassment, sharing someone’s private information without consent, and coordinated efforts to disrupt another user’s ability to use Bazaar are all prohibited.

Restrictions on Violence & Dangerous Behavior

Content that promotes violence, illegal activity, or unsafe behavior isn’t allowed — violent threats, encouraging harm, or glorifying extremism have no place on Bazaar. Content that encourages self-harm or suicide is also prohibited; if you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a local support service rather than posting about it here.

Restrictions on Graphic & Sexual Content

Obscene content — graphic violence, gore, or explicit sexual content — isn’t allowed anywhere on the platform, including in listing photos, descriptions, and messages. Content shown in a listing should be appropriate for a general audience.

Respect the Platform & Its Categories

Bazaar is organized into categories — Real Estate, Vehicles, Goods, Services, Jobs, Pets & Animals, Events, Vacations & Experiences, Announcements, and Deals & Discounts — and each listing should sit in the category that actually fits it. Unlike marketplaces limited to a fixed catalog of physical products, Bazaar is a general classifieds platform: services, digital goods, and live animals (with appropriate care standards and legal requirements met) are all welcome here, provided they otherwise comply with these Guidelines. Listings deliberately placed in the wrong category to dodge a rule, or that don’t genuinely fit any current category, may be moved or removed at our discretion.

Prohibited & Restricted Items

Bazaar is a marketplace for legitimate, legal goods and services. Regardless of category, you may not list:

  • Anything illegal to sell, own, or provide in the Cayman Islands, or that violates a trade or export restriction that applies here
  • Stolen goods, or goods you don’t have clear legal right to sell
  • Counterfeit or replica items misrepresented as genuine
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other regulated weapons
  • Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
  • Hazardous, toxic, or otherwise unsafe materials
  • Products subject to an active safety recall
  • Human remains or body parts
  • Goods made from endangered or protected species, where prohibited by law
  • Content or items that promote hate, violence, or exploitation
  • Sexually explicit content or services
  • Anything involving fraud, false medical claims, or deliberately deceptive representations

Some categories carry their own additional expectations beyond this list — see the Listing Guidelines help section for category-specific detail, for example around live animals (appropriate care, legal ownership, and any local permitting requirements) or services requiring a professional license.

If you’re unsure whether something’s allowed, reach out to us at help@bazaar.ky before posting rather than after — we’d rather answer the question up front.

How We Enforce These Guidelines

We review reported listings, messages, and accounts against these Guidelines, our Terms of Service, and applicable law. When we review a possible violation, we consider things like how serious it is, its impact on other users, and whether it’s a first-time or repeated issue.

Depending on what we find, enforcement can range from asking you to edit or remove a listing, to issuing a warning, to temporarily or permanently suspending an account. Serious or clearly illegal violations may result in immediate action without prior warning and, where required, a report to the relevant authorities. Reports are reviewed by our team, not sent to the person being reported, so reporting something doesn’t notify them.

If you believe we made a mistake in reviewing your listing or account, contact us at help@bazaar.ky and we’ll take a second look.

Review & Updates

We review this policy periodically, and sooner if a change in law, our product, or how the community uses Bazaar warrants it. Material updates will be posted here with a new effective date below.
